It seems as if the Blu-ray mdedium is gaining some momentum over HD-DVD if the Nielsen VideoScan tracking data is anything to go by. Blu-ray discs are reportedly selling HD-DVD by at least a 2:1 margin and its gaining. It's most likely that PS3 owners are picking up a movie too which in turn drives up the disc sales for blu-ray, a great plan by Sony .

The numbers for the week ending January 7th demonstrate that for every 47.14 HD-DVDs movies sold, there are 100 Blu-Ray movies sold. But the statistic worsens, as for the following week, ending January 14th, the amount of HD-DVDs sold would be 38.36, for every 100 Blu-Rays sold.
The report also stated that even back in 2006, while HD-DVD lead in sales because it had launched earlier than Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray quickly caught up and overtook HD-DVD in sales. In the same time frame, a year back in 2006, when Blu-Ray had just launched: for every 100 HD-DVDs sold, 85.05 Blu-Rays sold (week ending 01/07/06). That following week in 2006, Blu-Ray closed the gap to 100 HD-DVDs for every 92.40 Blu-Rays.

Avec ca, on peut donc voir que le Blu-ray se vends mieu que le HD DVD et meme double les ventes. On peut conclure que les acheteurs de la PS3, achetent aussi des films Blu-ray

Déja, au Japon, je suis quasi sur, ca sera le Blu-ray. Je connais des petits shop de vidéo location, et je vois des blu-ray mais pas de HD DVD ... Donc la déja ... Enfin bon, Sony marque un grand coup grace a la PS3. Apres, onverra pour l'europe
