1. 320x240, 352x237, 352x240, 512x384 at 14-30fps resolutions of video work. 640x480 is the boundary resolution between smooth and jerky video. 688X544, 720x576, 704X560 also work but video play back is slightly jerky and there are problems with the top and the bottom of the video. Not sure if larger avi at those resolutions will work 100%. 512x384 and less is the best resolution to encode at.
2. Basically, all MP3 soundtrack files (including 48kHz, 320kBit/s, Constant Bit Rate) work. PCM and WMA soundtracks DEFINATELY DON'T WORK! I'm not sure if variable bit rate MP3s, WAV and other sound track files work.
3. Video bit rates from 455-910 kBit/s work. Not sure about higher bitrates.
4. Divx MPEG 4 v3 Low/High motion and YES Divx Pro 5.02 CODECS WORK! I now know why test files 8, 9, 10, 19 don't work properly. It is because I used TMPEG to encode and interlace the avi files. I can confirm that ps2 media player doesn't like divx files avi interlaced with TMPEG. Thus, dont use TMPEG to avi interlace the seperate divx video and mp3 streams. Use Virtual Dub instead.
