LE DOC DISaNT SA :

Take apart the GC console.... remove the heatsink which is attached by gray, gooey heat dissipating polymer to the
chips below to reveal the pcb location shown. Locate the resistor block at R39 and attach two wires to the center
solder point pair at R6. Wield your iron deftly or you'll melt and dislodge the adjacent resistors on the block.

Connect the wires to a switch as shown below. If using a SPDT switch, simply connect the wires to the available
terminals and you're done. If using a DPDT like we are, follow the wiring conventions shown. That's it. Done. NCS
takes no responsibility if you toast your GC when doing this mod, but given the relative simplicity, we doubt many
GCs will be rendered into boxy doorstops

UN CD BOOT DE 745 Mo AVEC UN README DISANT SA

GameCube bootcd v.2.0 (USA)

Da-Expert
---------

This CD is for use with NTSC USA consoles only, it will NOT boot on JAP
or PAL models.

---------

First off about the GC hardware, or better yet it's media. Yes the
games are mini-dvds (not CDs) which means the GC is actually a DVD ROM
and as you guessed it can read CDs

You will need to burn this bootable ISO onto a blanl mini-CDR, you can
find the media at most places such as www.staples.com, generally these
mini CDRs are sold for mp3 players.

Now the second issue of what this bootcd does, currently it plays GC
import games (defeating Nintendos regional lockout) and also will play
non bootable CDR copies. Currently there is NO support for DVDR copies
so you will have to RIP the GC DVD's onto a mini CDR and play it.

-------------

GC DVD2CD Ripping

STEP 1: Copy all the files from the GC DVD onto your HDD.

STEP 2: right click on the folder and see how big it is. You need
to rip it onto mulitple mini-cdrs.

STEP 3: You must seperate the game into CDs, create a folder and copy
some of the files into it (to the capicity of a mini CDR) I think they
are about 300mb so you'll be making quite a bit og folders and CDs !

STEP 4: Do this for as many times as needed, it doesn't matter what
data goes on what CD but it DOES matter that you copy EVERY file.

STEP 5: With all directories made burn each one onto a blank mini CDR.
I know it's a lot of work and uses a lot of those mini cds but it is
the way to play copies

STEP 6: Burn all of them onto as many mini CDRs as needed and don't
forget to burn the GC bootcd to (if you don't have it burned already).

STEP 7: Stick in the bootcd into the GC and turn it on. Options menu
will come up, select "GC Copies (multiple)" and the screen will say to
"insert CDR #1" the order doesn't matter just instert the cds and keep
following the instructions until you have loaded them all into memory
and it starts up.

You may want to pick up a DVD ripping app from www.vcdhelp.com

***ABOUT DOWNLOADING!***
__________________________________________________ _______________________________________________

Q - When I click to download the file it says that I must 'enable' the download but I don't see
any buttons ?

AN - Use IE, some browsers such as netscape appear to have this problem.

***FAQ***
__________________________________________________ _______________________________________________

Q - What is a Mod-Chip ?

AN - A WASTE of money !

--------------------

Q - I hear you can't copy the PSX/PS2 Boot Sectors (hence why I need a modchip or bootcd) so how
can this work since I will be burning it ??? I can't even copy games or other commericial PSX
bootcds - how can yours boot ?

AN -

Normally the boot sectors can't be burned, but when you alter sectors 1-15 in a binary sub_code
form they will ! This is what 'they' (mod chip companies) won't tell YOU because they want YOUR
MONEY !

The FACT is, ALL master CDS are burned before they are PRESSED ! So even PSX games masters are
BURNED. The same RULE applies to the PSX Exchange Bootcd, how do you THINK they can make it ?
By altering the sub_code which if you're curious he sectors are written AS 000000-000015.

You CANNOT copy a PSX/PS2 boot sectors because they're 'BAD BLOCKS', but you can alter the
sectors; however it must be DONE in binary sub_code forum.

Don't ask ME how to make your ISO's bootable, it's TOO much work to do and you would lack the
knowledge but it is VERY possible to do. Just use my bootcd !

X-Box has NO protection you can boot any copy, but the are 9gig DVDRs so they must be ripped
ontomultiple DVDRs of 4gigs.

GC is the same as PSX since the Japanese companies do this (just as Sega did it with Saturn and
DC) so the same rules apply, except that GC boot sectors are located in 000000-000030 to amke it
harder to crack that's all.

-------------------

Because people seem to need help burning a CDR, I had
no choice but to write this FAQ!

Many people do NOT know how to burn CDRs and in turn,
make 'nasty' acusations towards me that this 'doesn't
work' and that it is FAKE, because of so many hoaxes.

Please do not say it does not work, this is NOT fake and
works great (see e-mails below), first try this FAQ to
get answers, then try e-mailing me.

---------------------

Q - I used CDRWIN and made a successful burn but my PSX, PSone or PS2 console won't boot.
What's wrong ?

AN - This is what happens with MOST burners when you burn at MUCH to fast of speed ! You should
ONLY burn at 1x. 2x should work BUT anything faster won't with most burners, this is a VERY
senstive piece of software.

I have recieved some reports recently that appear the newer model V4 & V5 boards 'may' require
the SWAP trick as used with neo chips. If your serial begins with U4 or U5 you may need to use
them.

You can find the swap tricks in the readme.txt that comes with the bootcd.

---------------------

Q - My burner doesn't support CDRWIN, is there any other software I can use ?

AN - You can try Fire Burner (www.fireburner.com) OR Blind Write (www.blindwrite.com)

---------------------

Q - I got an Audio file or a non-bootable CD.

AN -

1) Uninstall CDRWIN (you must have a poorly cracked version)

2) Download a good working version from a relible WAREZ site you can find them from searching
http://www.warezcrawler.net

3) burn the .bin again (make sure you have version 2.0 or above!)

---------------------

Q - Do I need a Mod-Chip to use PSBOOTEMU Winamp-PSX or X-AMP?

AN - For X-Amp and X-BOX no, MS has no such protection for the MP3 player. For the PSX or PS2
Yes or you need to bootup with the bootcd.

---------------------

Q - What is the proper way to burn the CDs?

AN -

RECORDING WITH CDRWIN

1. Insert your blank cd

7. Close the screen & get back to the cdrwin options

8. Press the first button "record disc"

9. Make sure your cd recorder is highlighted in the "cdrom

recorder"box

10. Now press the "load cuesheet" button

11. Another box will now have appeared so click on the file which

says .cue & press "open" to load the .cue sheet

12. Press start record, set the recording speed to 1x and tick the RAW button.
