Hum... Do you use the same burner for all of your burning. May be it's also a problem with the burning tool (Alcohol, Nero or Disc Juggler)
I have made my own rip of US Shenmue and it works perfectly with CDDA burned with CDRWIN.
I will take a try, as soon as possible, to create and burn an image with lbacalc/mds4dc
